"Move Me" is a collection inspired by bold expression and movement. Way back when I first fell in love with abstract art (and waaayyyy before I created it), I fell in love with gestural abstracts. In the method of gestural or "action" painting, the focus is on how the painting is created. Paint is splashed, splattered, swiped and dripped.
The resulting painting and shapes tell the story of movement: fluid movement like a dance, and quick, bold movement like a jump.
And for me - someone who connects with abstract work through emotion and feeling - this style of painting felt so personal. As if I could feel the artist's emotions and movements in their work.
The collection name "Move Me" is indicative of how this style of action work moves me, but is also a play on the movement contained within each work. I wanted to express myself in this collection. To hold nothing back. To be carefree, but also brave. My hope is that these pieces will bring a sense of freedom, joy, and playfulness to the viewer and collector.
