The "Sentimental" Collection was created for my first solo show, which hung at Artless Bastard in DePere, WI during September 2021.

Sentimentality; a whisper of meaning beyond the physical. This collection explores the sentimental nature of flowers through abstract representations of their forms and colors, invoking the whisper of their meaning that extends beyond their physical form.

One of the beauties of abstract art is the ability of the viewer to assign their own meaning and interpretation, based on their own life experiences, personality and memories. Flowers are much the same way. We all have sentimental ties to blooms. They connect us to memories, loved ones, and special moments. They invoke joy and whimsey. And the meaning is different for each person that views them.
