Terms and Policies: Shipping & Returns
Shipping Practices and Policy
Shipping is calculated at checkout for both domestic and international packages. As a standard, most large paintings will ship rolled - not stretched. I specify in each listing if a painting ships rolled or "ready to hang." This may have to change after purchase for international shipping, depending on how it needs to be taken by the shipping company. This will be discussed if it comes up.
"Ready to hang" means that the painting ships stretched and with hanging hardware installed. Large paintings ship rolled because it is safer and more cost-effective to do it this way once paintings reach a certain size. If you would like to purchase a large painting and have it shipped stretched, you may do so at your expense.
Once you receive a rolled painting, it can be taken to a local framer or canvas shop to be stretched back onto bars. Typically this cost is the same or less than shipping the piece stretched. If you'd like help arranging stretching for you purchased painting, I'm happy to find and source quotes for shops local to you. Just reach out!
Shipping Times
The timeline for shipping original art is not a quick one, as pieces have to be retrieved from storage, prepared, and safely packaged. Many artists, including myself, take time after a piece is collected to clean it, apply touch-ups or varnish, add hanging hardware, etc.
Typically, you can expect your piece to leave my studio within fourteen business days. Once a piece is with the shipping company, you'll receive an email with tracking information and expected delivery dates. All pieces are covered by shipping insurance.
If your item arrives damaged, see the "Damaged or Incorrect Orders" section below for what to do. Unfortunately I cannot offer refunds in the event of damage, but you will receive a remake or new piece of the same value.
Returns & Exchanges
Each piece of artwork is created or selected with great care, and I want you to feel confident in your purchase.
Due to the original and often one-of-a-kind nature of my work—including original paintings, made-to-order canvas prints, and commissioned pieces—all sales are final. I am unable to accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations once an order has been placed.
Original Artwork
All original paintings are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Because of their value and the care required in handling and shipping, original artwork is not eligible for return or refund.
I do my best to accurately represent each piece through photographs and descriptions. If you would like additional images, videos, or details before purchasing, I am always happy to provide them. Email me at hello@jennakaststudio.com
Canvas Prints
All canvas prints are made to order and produced specifically for you. For this reason, I am unable to accept returns or exchanges on print orders.
Please review all details carefully before placing your order, and feel free to reach out with any questions.
Commissions
Commissioned work is a collaborative and customized process. All commission payments—including deposits and final balances—are non-refundable.
I work closely with collectors throughout the process to ensure alignment on vision, color, and overall direction before the piece is completed.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your artwork arrives damaged or if you receive the wrong item, please contact me within 5 days of delivery at hello@jennakaststudio.com. I will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Please Include:
- Your order number
- Photos of the item showing the damage (I may also request a video)
- Photo of the shipping label
- Photos of the box, including areas of damage
I know this seems a little excessive (sorry!), but it allows me to file for the insurance payout through the carrier who damaged the package.
Questions Before Purchasing
I want you to feel fully confident in your decision. If you have any questions about a piece—color, scale, texture, or how it might live in your space—please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help.
Final Note
Thank you for supporting original art and small business. Each piece is created and sent with care, and I’m honored to have my work become part of your space.
