The Reality of Collecting Original Art

Shipping times for original artwork can vary from 2-6 weeks from purchase to your door. Why so long? The sale of original art is quite different from what we're used to in this age of Amazon Prime and most retail shipping. After a piece is purchased it has to be collected (if it is hanging or on display somewhere other than at the artist's studio), prepped for display or shipping (get a coat of seal/varnish, get hanging hardware installed, get removed from stretcher bars and rolled), and packaged safely and securely for shipping. The shipping times you may be shown during purchase are reflective of time in transit once shipped, and do not include the prep and handling part of the process. If you have any questions about shipping timeline before you purchase a piece, please reach out to the artist at hello@jennakaststudio.com for a specific shipping time estimate.

Keeping Shipping Affordable and Safe

Please note that most large paintings (those with one or more measurements over 40 inches) ship rolled and must be taken to a canvas shop or framer to be stretched onto new bars. This is due to extremely high shipping costs that would be required to ship such large art. Shipping art of this size would be more expensive than paying to have the piece stretched back onto bars, so not only is your painting more safe in transit by being rolled, you are saving hundreds of dollars on shipping costs. Shipping process for each piece is explained in the listing. If you have any questions, please inquire before purchase at hello@jennakaststudio.com

Damage

All shipped paintings are insured. If damage occurs in transit, please take MANY photos of the state of the packaging, the label, as well as the damage to the piece. Insurance cannot be collected without this evidence. Then reach out to the artist at hello@jennakaststudio.com to report that your piece has been damaged and discuss next steps.
