"Moon Gate II" features a background of deep, dappled green broken by splashy marks of moonlight blue and rich golden yellow. Arranged in a circular pattern with a dark center, intentions are to feel like a moon gate - a magical portal or doorway with something special beyond.
Part of my Nature's Spell collection within my Reflections body of work, this piece is inspired by my own quiet hours spent with my hands in the dirt, growing things in my garden, wandering along shorelines, and watching the forest change as the light fades at dusk. I painted from the sensory memory of damp earth, moving grasses, and those fleeting moments where nature seems to accept you as part of it. The collection holds that feeling in layers of color, movement, and texture—untamed, intuitive, and deeply grounded in the real world. These pieces invite you to slow down, wander within them, and find your own meaning in the quiet power of the natural world.
