Representing a shift in my more well-known style, this piece is part of my Reflectionsbody of work. Inspired by the natural world around us, capturing organic patterns and shapes that reflect our own elemental connection to the universe. The pieces within this series feature distilled aspects of the world we experience daily - yet often don't truly notice. And so they beg you to pause, absorb,reflect, and enjoy more deeply.
Reflections, ripples, dappled light, drifting smoke, dew drops. The in-between. The unseen. A fluttering wing.
Part of the shift in style you'll see in Reflections is a heavier use of oil paints than in my past work. Their grounded, soft influence being key to new marks and shapes that capture the essence of nature.
In this piece in particular is bold in its warmth, with your eye drawn to anchoring cool tones and dappled deep blues. The longer you look, the more you'll see subtle marks and colors that provide depth and interest in the most natural way.
